Statues in the City, Art Gallery of NSW
If you are contemplating installing some statues in your house, head no further than the Art Gallery of NSW for some inspirations.
The Tatzu Nishi exhibition exemplifies what I love about the Art Gallery. No matter how wacky an idea seems to be, someone somewhere just gathers enough courage to run with it.
In this case, it's the domestication of a couple of larger-than-life equestrian statues. Horse head in the cupboard? Why not. A warrior on the bed? Only if he's riding a horse. Mr Nishi, you are incredible desu ne.
And while you are there, why not refresh yourself at the Gallery Cafe with a cup of coffee and some delectable cakes and tarts. There's no rush. Just you and some appreciation of all things art.
Art Gallery Road,
The Domain,
Sydney NSW 2000.
The Tatzu Nishi exhibition runs until 14 February 2010.
The Gallery Cafe opens daily from 10:00am to 4:30pm.

I love the Art Gallery. It's been a few years since I took my dad there.
hehe have you seen those amazing Horse and pig tables at Matt Blatt? They're enormous and whilst I'd love them, I have nowhere to fit them unless I styled them like they have here :D
Hi joey - I love the Art Gallery too (as you can tell) but beware of the nasty parking rangers in that area. We got a parking ticket for being 1 minute late :(
Hi Lorainne - Haha! I just had a look at those pig tables. Such a bargain at $1495 (!). You don't have to put them on the bed. They'll work great as side tables, don't you think? :)
Isn't the Art Gallery just wonderful? And you get to wander around the Botanic Gardens as well, and have a picnic by the harbour. Really, is there any better city to live in than Sydney? :)
Celia
Hi Celia - I love the botanic garden, art gallery and harbour trio too. I must have taken millions of photos at these places. Especially of the harbour. And from all angles!
Thanks for dropping by :)
